Ants are the largest group of animals on the planet; and in Wisconsin. There are 5-6 species that are particularly pesky in our area. The most important one to be on the lookout for is the Carpenter Ant. These can do structural damage to your home or business. We do not have Fire Ants this far north. One small benefit to the very cold winters we have.
Here’s what we do:
We have been treating homes and businesses for all types of ants for over 20 years. We know the treatment methods that work and the ones that do not work. We also know what pesticides have proven to be the most effective, as well as the safest to use in your home.
The most important ant to ID properly is the Carpenter Ant, because they can do structural damage. Most other types of ants in our area are just really annoying. Once we know which type of ant we are dealing with, the solution is usually very straightforward.
The goal is to kill the nest, not just the ants you see. Our treatment methods are aimed here. Based on the type of ant, we use a combination of very targeted pesticide spray and pesticide bait to make this happen. Both are taken back to the nest where it kills all the ants, even the queen.
Our goal is to kill that nest as quickly as possible. Sometimes, depending on where the nest is, and depending on the egg hatching cycle, it can take up to 3 months to be certain the nest is dead. We need to check monthly during this time to make sure we keep the bait fresh.
In order to make sure ants do not infest, or re-infest the property, we can treat one time in the spring as soon as the snow melts. This will keep the ants away for the whole year.
Once our technician confirms the nest is dead, we can warranty that ants will not return for the remainder of the year. If ants do return, we come back and treat until the nest is dead again.
